I really enjoyed my recent interview with Arrica Rose. I spent the week leading up to our conversation listening to her new album "Let Alone Sea" and I couldn't wait to talk to her about it. The songs have so many layers, and her incredible voice ties them all together. She concludes the album with a mash up of "Video Killed the Radio Star/Wonderful World". We talked about how lyrics of many pop songs really tell a tragic story, but you really don't notice until you strip away some of the original production. Arrica has a way of choosing just the right song to cover on her albums, and make them her own. We also talked about her background, influences, and the state of the music business. She also told me about the non profit she founded called "I Heart Inc". It is artist operated and raises money for charitable programs and organizations through creative projects and events.
