I recently called Sarah McCallum
at her home in Sydney, Australia. We had a very nice conversation
that covered her background and her music. I have a copy of her
Miss Little album called "When Things Fall Apart and Into Place". I
told her how much I enjoy each song on the album, and my
appreciation of the fact that there are musical surprises in
each selection. As a listener you can't predict where the songs
will take you, and that makes it exciting. In addition to the great
music, Sarah's voice draws you in. She comes from a musical family,
and music has been a big part of her life from the very beginning.
We talked about her winning a global competition sponsored by
Crowded House, and sharing the stage with the band. Neil Finn is
one of her influences and that was quite an honor for her. Having
the chance to talk to such a talented and engaging musician from
the other side of the world meant a lot to me. We had great rapport
from the start, and I know that you will enjoy this as much as I
did. Visit Sarah at http://www.misslittle.com.au/fr_home.cfm and
tell her that you heard her on my podcast!
