I recently had the opportunity to
speak with musician Jesse Gress. I have been aware of him for many
years through his work with Todd Rundgren. I would go to see them
perform whenever they came through town, and Todd would always
introduce him as a "local guy". Little did I know how local he was
to me. We were actually born in the same hospital, and that was
just the start. He shared so many great memories that he had
of his early days here in Bethlehem, PA. He has a
fantastic memory for names and dates, and it was a lot of fun for
me to hear his stories. I also learned about his extensive work in
transcribing music and his contribution to many of the guitar books
that I bought in the 80's. Please visit Jesse at his website
http://www.jessegress.com/ to
learn more about him and check out all of the books that he has for
sale there. Enjoy the interview!
