The Artist Connection Podcast has been offering long form audio interviews with artists from the past, present, and future since 2011. Hear what inspires them to get out of bed each morning and practice the craft that they love. My guests include people that I truly respect from many different backgrounds. Each episode provides a unique mix of music and conversation. Enjoy!
My guest today is musician Edward Rogers. He was
born in the UK, but has spent most of his life in New York City. He
moved there in the early 70's and lived through a pivotal time in
music history. He has so many great stories about the bands and
venues that are still a huge part of the musical landscape. I wish
I could have spoken with him for a lot longer that day. Hopefully
he will join me again in the near future. He just released
his brand new album called "Kaye". It is dedicated to and
inspired by the late, great UK singer/songwriter Kevin Ayers. The
record has been described as "a mixture of madness and sadness." I
have it, and that description fits. It is the kind of album that
has something for everyone. I love it. Two songs are featured with
this episode. If you are in the NYC area on 8/17/14, please join
Edward at Joe's Pub to celebrate the album release. Learn more
atwww.edwardrogersmusic.com. If you reach out to him, please mention that
you heard him here first. Enjoy!
