The Artist Connection Podcast has been offering long form audio interviews with artists from the past, present, and future since 2011. Hear what inspires them to get out of bed each morning and practice the craft that they love. My guests include people that I truly respect from many different backgrounds. Each episode provides a unique mix of music and conversation. Enjoy!
My guest today is Mia Doi Todd! She is a
musician from Los Angeles, CA. It was cool to speak with her
about her life, music, and influences. She has a new album out now
called "Floresta". It is a beautiful collection of her favorite
Brazilian songs. Her classically trained voice is perfectly
complimented by the acoustic guitar on the record. Two tracks are
featured with this episode. I was not familiar with these folk
songs, but I loved them from the first time I played the album.
Finding familiar elements in new styles of music is what I
appreciate the most. Mia has several other albums out since 1997,
and I am looking forward to discovering more of her work. Learn
more atwww.miadoitodd.com. If you reach out to Mia, please let her know
that Matt sent you!
