The Artist Connection Podcast has been offering long form audio interviews with artists from the past, present, and future since 2011. Hear what inspires them to get out of bed each morning and practice the craft that they love. My guests include people that I truly respect from many different backgrounds. Each episode provides a unique mix of music and conversation. Enjoy!
My guest today is powerhouse blues vocalist Deb
Ryder! Her new album "Let it Rain" is available now!
Three tracks are featured with this episode. After you hear
them, I am sure that you are going to want to buy the rest!
Deb was born in Illnois and was raised in the Chicago blues
scene. Her father, Al Swanson, was a local singing sensation that
exposed her to Jazz, Blues, and Gospel at a very young age. Her
family later relocated to Los Angeles. She told me all about the
time that she spent at her stepfather's famous club "The Topanga
Corral". Deb has so many amazing stories about this time in her
life. Her main influences include friend and mentor Etta James,
Koko Taylor, BB King, and Taj Mahal. Learn more atwww.debryder.com. If you reach out to Deb, please let her know
that you heard her here first.
Enjoy!
