The Punk Meets the Podfather

New Year's Eve. The final day of 2014. This year seemed to move more quickly than most. Even though it flew by, the universe has a way of giving us reminders that time is indeed, passing. My reminder came in just under the wire. I was on my way to the Doctor for an annual check up. I was coming up to a busy intersection and noticed a punk rocker walking by. I don't see many locally, so I took notice. It was just long enough to think "cool, you don't see that every day".
A few minutes later I was in the waiting room with the usual cast of characters. Ten minutes later, who walks in but the punk rocker! Now that I got a closer look at him, he was straight out of Central Casting...Mid 20's, purple spikey hair, Doc Martens up to his knees, studded jean jacket, face tattoos, and a nose ring. He sat acrosss from me. I was impressed with how quickly he made it over here. I thought that he would have surely noticed my purple Doc Martens and Rolling Stones pin on the lapel of my wool coat, so I struck up a conversation. "You made good time!". He looked at me, puzzled. "I saw you across the bridge before, and you made good time. I used to walk a lot myself". He mumbled something, put his ear buds in, and never looked up from his iPhone. Kids today. Hope I die before I get old, indeed.
