Episode 165 - Joel Havea

Joel Havea is a singer/songwriter currently based out of Hamburg, Germany. His journey began in Tonga, raised in Australia, and eventually settled in Germany after a tour of Europe. My good friend Hiyori pointed me in his direction and I am glad she did! His songs are amazing. We talked about his life and his music. His album "You Make Me Believe" is out now. The album was self self made and self financed. It is a great selection of songs written over the years as well as new songs inspired by his life on the road. Episode 164 - Alice Lake

Alice Lake is an incredible singer. Her voice and songs have the ability to transport you to a better place. "Alice and the Glass Lake" is her sonic dreamworld. It was a pleasure to speak with her about growing up in Wisconsin, her new "The Evolution" EP, and her busy year. She released a video for "Coming Down" just before our conversation, and she told me all about it. It does a great job of conveying the mood of the song. Alice is now based out of Brooklyn, New York. If you have the opportunity to see her live show, do not hesitate! Two songs are featured with this episode. She has a lot planned for 2014, so visit her at www.aliceandtheglasslake.com to stay up to date. If you reach out, please tell her that you heard her here first. Enjoy!

Episode 162 - Lisa Lim

Lisa Lim is an incredible guitar player and vocalist. She has been described as Sheryl Crow meets Joe Bonamassa. It is an excellent description, and Lisa delivers that and more. I was blown away by her latest self titled album, and I couldn't wait to have her on the show. She is based out of the Fredericksburg VA area, and plays many shows through the year. In addition to a hectic performance schedule, she is also a faculty member of the National Guitar Workshop and writes columns for several guitar magazines. We talked about her influences, music, and PRS and Taylor guitars. She really knows her stuff, and it was a pleasure to speak with her. Two tracks from the "Lisa Lim" album are featured with this episode. You are going to love them! Learn more at www.lisalimmusic.com. If you see Lisa, tell her that you heard her here first. Episode 161 - Doug Briney

Doug Briney is one of my favorite country singers out there today. He has a classic baritone delivery that was tailor made for this style of music. It is truly timeless. His 2013 Independent Country Music Award was well deserved! Doug is a good guy, and it was nice to catch up with him. He told me about his recent move from Alaska to Nashville, and all of the opportunities that are open to him in Music City USA. His latest album "Super Country Cowboy" is out now! Two tracks are featured with this episode. Learn more about him at www.dougbriney.com. If you reach out to him, please tell him that Matt sent you. Enjoy!
