Episode 187 - Sam Gomm

My guest today is singer/songwriter Sam Gomm. I recently called over to Holland to speak with him about his life, music, and The Goonies! Sam's music keeps him very busy with a full performance schedule, as well as frequent radio & TV appearances. He has been at it since he's 16 years old and is proudly carrying on his musical family tradition. His father is the legendary Ian Gomm (ACP Episode 183). He produced Sam's EP "Great!" and wrote two of the tracks. We also talked about Sam performing the John Lennon track "Imagine" for the first time, as well as some of his other influences. Learn more about Sam at www.reverbnation.com/samgomm and follow him on Twitter @samgomm1. Two of his songs are featured here. Please reach out to Sam and let him know that you heard him here first! Enjoy!

Episode 186 - Aiden Leslie

Today's episode features singer Aiden Leslie. He has been an entertainer his whole life and has done it all! He called me from NYC to talk about his childhood in Ohio, his performing arts school background, and his new remix album. It was a great time! Aiden moved to New York City just days after his high school graduation and has built an amazing career for himself. He told me about his early days in the underground club scene and how that differs from today. We also talked about the many talented DJs shaped and influenced his style. Our shared love of going to record stores and digging through the vinyl was also a fun topic during our chat. Two songs are featured with this episode. Think of that as a glimpse into his world, but you need to explore it even further. He has so much cool music available. Learn more at www.aidenleslie.com. If you reach out, please tell him that you heard him here first. Enjoy!

Episode 185 - Tommy Kenny

It is St. Patrick's Day 2014, and I have a very special episode to mark the occasion! My guest today is singer/songwriter Tommy Kenny! I called over to Ireland to speak with him, but it felt as though we were sitting across the table chatting. Long time listeners of this show have heard his name mentioned several times, and his music was featured on the Holiday Episode from 2013. I have been friends with Tommy since I first interviewed his son, Stewart Kenny, back in 2012. He has been a constant source of inspiration for me since that time. We talked through topics like family, music, and our mutual respect for each others work. Three of Tommy's original songs are featured with this episode. He also shared the inspirations behind the music. Tommy's music can be found on SoundCloud, YouTube, and Facebook. Please reach out to him and tell him what you think. Enjoy!

Episode 184 - Alexis Keegan

Alexis Keegan is a fantastic singer/songwriter. I caught up with her on her recent tour. She was travelling from New Orleans to Texas and she took the time to tell me all about it. Her debut EP "Clean Slate" was released on 2/25/14. It is a great introduction to her music and leaves you wanting more! Two of the songs are featured with this episode. Be sure to pick up the rest. Learn more about her at www.alexiskeegan.com. If you reach out to Alexis, please let her know that you heard her here first. Enjoy!

Episode 183 - Ian Gomm

This is a very special episode of The Artist Connection Podcast. My guest is the legendary musician Ian Gomm! I have been a fan of his for as long as I can remember, and I am honored to feature him here. I first heard him back in 1979. His hit song "Hold On" was all over the radio. I bought the 45 and have followed his career ever since. Meeting him was a thrill. He shared so many cool stories about The Who, Elvis Costello, Wings, Nick Lowe, and his time with Brinsley Schwarz. Three of my favorite Ian Gomm songs are included with this episode. I start things off with "Hold On", go into his 2005 recording of "Cruel to be Kind", and then close out the show with "Here It Comes Again". He was very generous with his time, but I feel like I have so many more questions for him. I hope he returns for a future episode. Learn more at www.iangomm.com. Enjoy!
