Episode 252 - Deb Ryder

My guest today is powerhouse blues vocalist Deb Ryder! Her new album "Let it Rain" is available now! Three tracks are featured with this episode. After you hear them, I am sure that you are going to want to buy the rest! Deb was born in Illnois and was raised in the Chicago blues scene. Her father, Al Swanson, was a local singing sensation that exposed her to Jazz, Blues, and Gospel at a very young age. Her family later relocated to Los Angeles. She told me all about the time that she spent at her stepfather's famous club "The Topanga Corral". Deb has so many amazing stories about this time in her life. Her main influences include friend and mentor Etta James, Koko Taylor, BB King, and Taj Mahal. Learn more at www.debryder.com. If you reach out to Deb, please let her know that you heard her here first. Enjoy!

Episode 251 - Igor Prado

I recently called down to Sao Paulo Brazil to speak with bluesman Igor Prado! He has a brand new album out now on Delta Groove called "Way Down South". The list of guest artists include Mud Morganfield, Sugaray Rayford, Kim Wilson, and Lynwood Slim to name just a few. Igor told me all about his recording approach, and how it gives the album a live feel. Three tracks are featured with this episode. Find additional details at www.deltagroovemusic.com. The Igor Prado Band is hitting the road to support it. They have many dates in the US through 2015 so catch them if you can. It was great to talk to Igor about his life, his influences, and Chuck Berry! Learn more at www.igorpradoband.com. Special thanks to Steve Dixon for making this interview possible. If you reach out to Igor on Facebook, let him know that you heard him here first. Enjoy!
